Learn a little more about who we are
It all starts with a love of the outdoors. Sometimes there is nothing more satisfying than taking a stroll into the woods and appreciating the true beauty of nature. Eventually, we realized how great it can to bring some of that beauty back home to enjoy at all times. That is how Otter Grove came to be.
We perform most of our work using locally sourced and recycled materials. We do not believe in cutting down trees to simply make goods, instead we use already fallen trees, old discarded pallets, and anything else that otherwise would just make its way to a landfill and not be used to its full potential.

Hello friends. My wife @adeang915 ‘s best friend has started a GoFundMe page, as our medical expenses are really starting to add up. She is currently in the hospital and will be for some time, and I’ve been looking into using family leave, staying with friends, and monthly hotel rentals in order to be closer to her during this time. In addition to the current treatment she is getting there, she is also going to need ongoing care, medication, and bloodwork for the rest of her life and the costs associated with that are growing. I wanted to put this out in the community to help spread the word in any way. Any help with this is a great weight off our shoulders as we focus on her recovery and healing.

Finally sanded the slab from @newjerseywoodforever down to 3000 grit (excessive, but I filled the holes with epoxy so I wanted to get a shiny finish), and took some @odiesoil and wax to it. I must say it turned out beautiful. Sorry about the poor lighting, once I get a few pictures of this with natural sunlight it will definitely pop!

Table tops are finally finished. The spar urethane really made the natural grain shine on these. Looking forward to seeing them installed!

First experiment with @odiesoil and some Odie’s wax on a random piece of cedar I had laying around. Sanded to 240 grit and worked in a little oil, followed by a buffing with the wax. I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with how well this turned out given the little effort I had to put in!

Playing with epoxy update: sanded down to 3000 grit and buffed with some @odiesoil
The surface finish is nice and smooth, but the epoxy itself was a little bubbly and ripply from me dumping it in really fast. All in all not bad for some leftover epoxy and scrap wood, time to do the rest of them!
